Into Eva's kitchen

The gorgeous and sexy Eva Longoria has been busy doing a press tour for her new cookbook this month! In it, she shares some of her family recipes as well as her own very popular ones. It includes spicy Mexican but also classic American and some European flavours. Some of the recipes include guacamole, red velvet cake, and her famous tortilla soup. "The cookbook is a memoir of my life told through food" says Eva.

Style icon: Chloe Sevigny

Big Love star Chloe Sevigny may have landed herself in the fashion police column a few times, but we think her fearless, creative style rocks. Here are some of our favourite looks from her wardrobe

The girl loves a scalloped edge

In an outfit that could easily be dowdy, she manages to look oh-so-chic

So in love with this hot pink Luella Bartley dress

The queen of the blazer + shorts combo, she's rocking that Chloe suit hard

Looking very sophisticated and chic at the Hermes Wall Street store opening

Sleep better - now!

Having trouble sleeping lately? Here are some tips from Women's Health magazine that have worked great for myself, to get a better night's sleep - more often.

  • Don't stress about it. Accept that some nights you'll sleep better than others. Stressing about it will only keep you up later
  • Take a bath. Not only will a hot bath relax you for bed, but as your body temperature drops afterwards, you should fall into a restful sleep.
  • Make some noise. Sounds known as white noise (like a fan or sound machine) can make it easier to sleep at night, especially if you sleep with a snorer. But putting your iPod on is not a good idea
  • Keep it cool. A colder bedroom will cause your body to function at calmer, more restful speeds. So keep the temperature low and add a few blankets if you need them.
  • No drinking or smoking! Alcohol and nicotine are stimulants that can not only make it difficult to fall asleep, but wake you up during the night as well.
  • Pillows are important. Make sure your pillows are supportive, comfortable and suited to your sleeping positions. Find the best pillow for your sleep style here
  • Cut the coffee! For some its noon, others is 7pm, but after a certain time you need to cut caffeine (that includes coffee, pop, chocolate, tea, etc) to be able to sleep well. Its different for everyone, so you need to figure out which time is your cut off.
  • Don't try to compensate. You can't make up for lost sleep by napping, going to bed super early or sleeping really late. You just need to get back on your regular schedule.

Celeb baby bump style

2011 seems to be the year for celebrity babies. From Victoria Beckham to Drea de Matteo to Owen Wilson, everyone is having babies. And these girls are doing it in style! Let's take a look at some of the best...

Though she just gave birth two weeks ago, the teeny tiny Rachel Zoe was showing a bit of a baby bump a few months ago at a Hollywood event. And below, much further along and looking still oh-so-stylish. (How ever does she manage in those heels?)

The beautiful Ali Larter looking very pregnant in a very fitted lace dress. I am so in love with this dress and she looks amaaazing! I'd just like to know.... how on earth did she get in there?!

One of my favourite girls ever, Marion Cotillard showing the first signs of her baby bump at LAX

Just a week after announcing her pregnancy, Natalie Portman presented at the People's Choice Awards in this fantastic Jason Wu dress. And a few months later at the SAG awards, she dazzled in a white Azzaro gown

Though she's given birth now, the gorgeous Penelope Cruz looking so adorable in her camel coat, fedora hat & big belly

The always stylish Victoria Beckham not quite showing a baby bump yet in that loose-fitting tank, there is no doubt she will be so very chic even up to 9 months, and so will her little lady

Skinny fruits

We all know the nutrients and antioxidants that fruits are loaded with, but some are better than others. Here are some of the best fruits for staying slim.

Bananas
Sometimes being wrongly accused of being fattening, bananas are actually great for you. They contain resistant starch (if you're unfamiliar with resistant starch, refer to this post) so you'll stay fuller longer and burn more fat! Try to eat them when they're just ripening with a little green left.

Raspberries
Fibre is an essential nutrient to keep you full and prevent you from overeating, and one cup of raspberries has more fibre than 4 slices of whole wheat bread! (Blueberries have even more). So load up on those tasty little berries!

Grapefruit
Grapefruits are low in sugar and high in fibre, making them very nutritious, filling and low calorie. Research has even shown they improve insulin resistance, another way to keep you from overeating.

Apples
An apple a day keeps the doctor away. The benefits of apples have always been ingrained in our brains, but now we know they'll also keep up slim. The fibre in apples will keep you full and slow your digestion, making you less likely to reach for snacks, especially sugary ones. Research has shown that inhaling the smell of green apples when you have a food craving actually tricks your body into thinking you've already eaten, killing the craving! Also, the skin packs a lot of nutrients including fibre, so keep it on!

Reebok Easytone

Actress Eva Mendes has joined Reebok as the new face of their Easytone line of shoes. If anyone can make running shoes look sexy, its Eva. The Easytone has been getting rave reviews for its actual toning ability, unlike its competitor, Skechers Shape Ups (which also don't come close in the looks department).

The Easytone comes in two different walking shoes as well as a sandal, and there are also the running versions. I am so happy to hear that these shoes actually work and aren't just a marketing ploy. They are getting great reviews from industry publications as well as customer feedback online.

So not only do they do double duty when it comes to working out, they are actually really nice looking shoes! You can even customize your own pair online.
I can't wait to get some!

Spring chartreuse

One of spring's big colours this year is cool chartreuse. The neon-esque colour is popping up everywhere from runways to celebrity events. Be sure to add a pop of chartreuse to your wardrobe!

One of fashion's favourite ladies, Sarah Jessica Parker also appears to be a fan of the eye-catching colour

Healthy, fulfilling breakfast

One of my favourite things to eat for breakfast is a fibre-rich cereal loaded with fruit. I like Bran Flakes or Nature's Path Flax Plus cereals like Pumpkin Raisin Crunch. Then I put anything from strawberries & blueberries to apples, grapes & bananas in it! I also add ground flaxseed for omega-3s and some almond milk. Its filling, tasty & a healthy way to start the day. So good!
